They are currently seeking a Senior Finance Assistant to join their team on a 14-month fixed-term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. The Role
As a Senior Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for a wide range of finance and accounting duties, including stock control, reporting, accounts payable, multi-currency sales invoicing, and supervision of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage stock including raw materials, finished goods, and demo items using Microsoft Dynamics
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly gross margin
- Create and issue external purchase orders to suppliers and manage pro-forma invoices
- Post approved purchase invoices and prepare monthly supplier payment runs
- Supervise the Finance and Sales Support Assistant in:
- Bank reconciliations
- Multi-currency sales processing and invoicing
- Credit control and VAT compliance
- Expense processing and payment
What We're Looking For
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a finance-related field or proven experience in a similar finance role. Additionally, or alternatively, holding a relevant accounting qualification-either part- or fully-qualified-such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA Ireland, ACA, Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI), or IATI is highly desirable
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a finance team, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Stock management experience and a strong grasp of accruals and prepayments
- Experience in multi-currency transactions (GBP, EUR, USD)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or working within an ERP system is highly desirable
- Excellent organisational and communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing priorities and meeting deadlines
