We are seeking a Maintenance Assistant. Working across Northern Ireland, supporting stores and store managers with ongoing maintenance for the company’s property, equipment, and assets. To provide support to the Property and Facilities Department in the carrying out of maintenance work to our Company Owned Company Operated stores, Cash and Carry stores and other buildings as required. This will be achieved through the carrying out of these tasks in person in the main or arranging for specialist contractors to carry out the works.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Carrying out routine maintenance works across a network of sites throughout Northern Ireland, as required and instructed.
- Working from a preferred supplier list of specialist contractors, management of contractors and onsite works.
- Working with maintenance team lead to ensure detailed weekly updates on all maintenance works.
- Updating maintenance team lead on works completed or ongoing on a daily basis.
- Monthly van stock inventories and keeping van clean and tidy.
Essential criteria:
- At least two years previous experience in a maintenance role and/or working with external contractors.
- Full Driving Licence.
- Knowledge of dealing with contractors and/or suppliers.
- Ability to prioritise.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Can do attitude with the ability to embrace change.
- Ability to use email and basic Microsoft programmes.
Desirable criteria:
- Health & Safety qualifications.
- Trade qualifications.
- Knowledge of the grocery convenience retail sector.
- Previous working knowledge of online maintenance programmes.
- Trade Skills such as electrician/plumber/joiner.
- Previous experience working with Deli/Kitchen equipment and/or refrigeration/air conditioning units.
