Staffline Ireland are recruiting for a Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager on behalf of an independent charity working in the heritage sector. The Philanthropy & Partnerships Manager will plan and deliver a sustained increase in major donor and corporate partnerships income. Working closely with the wider Development team and the commercial sales team, the postholder will develop a multi-year fundraising plan and build relationships with potential and existing high value supporters to deliver funding for key charitable projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Head of Development Operations and the Event Sales Manager to agree income targets and then develop and deliver a multi-year fundraising plan in support of charitable projects.
- Build and track a prospect and donor pipeline for fundraising, ensuring a strong mix of prospects with interests closely aligned to strategic priorities.
- Design and deliver regular analysis of the prospect pipeline and income, sharing this regularly with senior management, proactively identifying and responding to opportunities and challenges.
- Develop a strong case for support for priority fundraising projects, involving key stakeholders to develop bespoke funding proposals and improve conversion of funding opportunities.
- Ensure funding applications and reports are submitted on time and to a high standard.
- Work with the London office and the Event Sales Manager to plan and deliver compelling donor tours and events which maximise fundraising opportunities from high value audiences and deepen supporter engagement.
- Co-ordinate any fundraising activity being led by fundraisers in the wider Development Team, including through site visits and events for senior stakeholders and England-based charitable trusts.
- Scope and roll out opportunities to build a mid-value programme in support of schools and communities projects.
- Build strong relationships with funders, engaging influential funders who are both new to the organisation and those who are more familiar.
- Build direct relationships with a portfolio of new prospective donors as well as existing supporters with an emphasis on face-to-face and bespoke relationships.
- Develop strong connections with the wider funding communities in Northern Ireland, particularly philanthropists, corporate sponsors and peers in the fundraising sector.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders including board members, senior staff and volunteers to ensure they are well equipped to manage their own peer relationships with prospective funders.
- Work in partnership with the Development Team's Trusts Manager and Corporate Partnerships Manager to ensure there is an efficient and co-ordinated approach to recruiting and account managing these types of donors, particularly where they are not based on the island of Ireland.
- Work in close partnership with the income generation team so both functions co-ordinate approaches to prospective supporters and clients and maximise income.
- Build a detailed knowledge of plans for the future, developing strong relationships with those involved in delivering on these plans.
- Work closely with the team to identify broader charitable and commercial income opportunities.

Person Specification:
- Commercially focused with solid experience of leading income generation for charitable causes.
- Extensive experience of building new, direct relationships, and enabling long term engagement with senior influencers connected to philanthropists and/or corporate partners.
- Demonstrable experience of managing, and converting a major donor or corporate partnerships pipeline into high value donations.
- Working effectively with multiple internal stakeholders, balancing multiple objectives to maximise impact for the organisation.
- Familiar and confident in applying a proactive new-business approach in a fundraising context.
- Understands and applies effective fundraising methodologies, placing supporter journeys at the heart of planning.
- Understanding of the key principles of working with senior volunteers and stakeholders to secure major donations or corporate support.
- Understanding of the Codes of Fundraising Practice and fundraising regulation in the UK.
- Understanding of compliance for Gift Aid, VAT and GDPR as it relates to fundraising.
Desirable Criteria:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent.
- Experience in managing Senior Volunteers or Campaign Board members to deliver charitable income.
- Developing and successfully implementing a fundraising plan.
