Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Trumpf Punch Operator to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating Trumpf punch machines, ensuring high-quality production of metal parts, components, and products. The operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the punch press equipment, while adhering to safety standards, quality guidelines, and production schedules.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate Trumpf punch machines according to specifications, ensuring proper alignment, tooling, and machine settings for efficient production.
2. Material Handling: Load raw material (typically sheet metal) into the punch press and ensure correct feeding of materials during the operation.
3. Quality Control: Inspect punched parts for accuracy, dimensions, and surface quality using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and troubleshoot issues with the Trumpf punch machines to minimise downtime.
5. Production Efficiency: Monitor the production process to ensure it stays on schedule, adjusting machine settings and tooling as needed for optimal efficiency.
6. Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean work area, and wear appropriate protective gear while operating machinery.
7. Documentation: Complete production logs, quality checklists, and machine maintenance records as required.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and engineers to meet production goals and address any issues that arise during production.
9. Tooling Management: Change and maintain punch tools, dies, and other components to ensure smooth operation and consistent product quality.

Qualifications & Skills:

1. Proven experience operating Trumpf punch presses or similar CNC punch machines in a manufacturing environment.
2. Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, machine setup, and operation.
3. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
4. Familiarity with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) for quality checks.
5. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to solve mechanical issues on the fly.
6. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
7. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
8. Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment is a plus.
