Pertemps are currently recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer to join a specialist chemical manufacturer who are based in Hampshire. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic candidate with a background within engineering to take on a Technical Support role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide extensive technical support and backup to UK & European distributors.
  • Develop and implement testing programmes.
  • Maintain and expand central knowledge databases for product and application information.
  • Attend site visits to support sales staff with technical details.
  • Answer calls and emails relating to technical support.
  • Host training sessions and hands-on demonstrations of the products.
  • Handle product quality complaints.
  • Assist with quality control when the QC Technician is absent.
  • Write technical articles and product PR.
  • Update CRM database, forwarding sales leads to relevant departments.

Requirements:

  • Experience within a similar role.
  • Experience working with adhesives, sealants, coatings or paints is advantageous.
  • Science-based qualification or degree.
  • Engineering background.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Happy to travel to Europe occasionally.
  • Full UK driving licence.

The Technical Support/ Mechanical Engineer Role:

  • Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm.
  • Negotiable salary depending on experience.
  • Annual Bonus.
  • Happy with occasional travel including European travel and attending exhibitions.
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holiday.
  • Generous pension contribution.
  • Private Medical Cover.
