I have partnered with an exciting start-up with a proven proof of concept and initial investment, who is now looking for an experienced senior engineer to join the founding team. Based in Barcelona or London with weekly onsite presence. The right candidate will have a holistic skillset with a focus on Back-end engineering. The role requires the engineer to work in a highly regulated space, taking R&D ML models, containerising these models (docker) and then deploying these into a production environment.

Your Tasks:

  • Drive end-to-end technical solutions that enhance user experience in clinical workflows by building scalable back-end architecture, intuitive AI tools, and efficient APIs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure performance, security, and alignment with user needs.

Tech stack:

  • Backend: Python - FastAPI.
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Vector Databases, Graph Databases.
  • Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes.
  • AI/ML: LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Torch.
  • Frontend: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Modern CSS (Tailwind, Styled Components).

Your Experience:

  • Advanced Python Engineering: able to deploy ML applications using containers (docker) into production.
  • AI/ML: LLMs, Agentic AI Workflow development, RAG-based applications.
  • Security: working in a highly regulated space, you ensure your code is secure.
  • Agile working environment: you thrive in early-stage environments, can work speedily to a high quality.

Additional expertise:

  • NLP and Machine learning, Cloud, DevOps and Security (OAuth2, encrypted data, or regulated environments).
  • Life Science Compliance knowledge (GXP, GCP, AI Act etc).
  • Experience with vector or graph databases.
