Wise Employment are looking for a Parking Operational Officer to join a fantastic organisation based in Paignton, Devon. This opportunity is temporary (12 Weeks Long). However, for the right candidate, it could also become permanent! You will be working on a rota basis, which will include weekend work, the hours are 7am – 5:30pm, offering an hourly rate of £13.26, paid weekly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues using set procedures.
  • Maintain and repair parking equipment, arranging further repair when necessary.
  • Implement tariff changes and ensure clear customer communication.
  • Operate car park lifts and respond to alarms.
  • Maintain records, daily reports, and handle waybill reconciliation.
  • Check and maintain safety equipment.
  • Open/close car parks, maintaining security of keys and Council property.
  • Respond to customer queries via intercom systems in pay-on-foot car parks.
  • Report and carry out minor repairs to signs and parking equipment.
  • Deliver parking permits to local centres and customers.
  • Implement parking suspensions and road closures for events.
  • Assist with parking enforcement, directing Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) when required.
  • Investigate and report abandoned vehicles.

To be successful you will need:

  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and plan workload.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to travel across Torbay and beyond.
  • Willingness to work shifts, unsociable hours, and be on-call.
  • Must converse easily with the public in clear English.
  • Driving licence checks and DBS clearance required.
