Job Summary/Objective: As a Network Design and Migration Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our network infrastructure transition project. You will collaborate with the British Telecom (BT) network Technical Designer and other stakeholders to assess, design, and implement network changes. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the successful migration of sites.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site assessments for each site within scope, working closely with the British Telecom (BT) network Technical Designer and other relevant parties.
- Develop comprehensive network designs for each site, specifying how all connections from the site to the corporate network will function after the migration to the Alstom network.
- Ensure network changes comply with security requirements, including VLAN segregation.
- Manage, at a technical level, the completion of any necessary changes needed to prepare each site for migration.
- Lead, at a technical level, the migration of sites from ex-Bombardier to the Alstom Network, ensuring a smooth and secure transition.
Experience:
- Proven experience in performing technical design and architecture in network environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in applying IT Security requirements to legacy IT environments.
- A good command of written and spoken English.
- Experience with SDWAN, ideally Velocloud.
- Previous experience delivering design and architecture across other parts of the infrastructure, such as computing, storage, and applications.
- Experience in an international environment, with exposure to multiple time zones.
- Experience working in a multi-party environment comprising several service providers.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
