Rockstar Games is on the lookout for a passionate Data Design Analyst with strong software development skills who possesses a passion for both games and big data. This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of London.
WHAT WE DO
The Rockstar Analytics team provides insights and actionable results to a wide variety of stakeholders across the organization. We leverage analytics to measure and improve the success and health of our games. We collaborate as a global team to develop cutting-edge data pipelines, data products, data models, reports, analyses, and machine learning applications. The Business Analytics vertical within the Analytics team is tasked with empowering Rockstar with data by helping design and implement game telemetry that drives better gameplay, player engagement, and business decisions. We aim to win hearts and minds by making data accessible, insightful, and actionable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with game designers, developers, and other stakeholders to help design and implement robust telemetry that supports long-term insights.
- Bridge the gap between data and non-data teams, ensuring our data meets the needs for achieving great game balance, player experience, and business intelligence.
- Advocate for the power of data, helping teams understand its value and how it can shape better decision-making.
- Build strong relationships across teams and time zones, influencing and educating stakeholders to drive data-informed decisions.
- Create impactful visualizations and reports using SQL, Excel, and Tableau (preferred) to make complex insights accessible.
- Support our internal data team by refining telemetry taxonomy and contributing to ongoing data developments.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or related).
- 3 – 5 years of experience in game analytics, data analytics, or business intelligence.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (Tableau preferred).
- Familiarity with data telemetry, taxonomy, and cloud analytics (Databricks, etc).
SKILLS
- Telemetry or other data design experience.
- Analytical mindset – ability to turn data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication and storytelling – able to make complex data accessible and engaging.
- Collaboration & relationship-building – skilled at working across teams and time zones.
- Problem-solving & initiative – proactive in improving data systems and processes.
- Stakeholder influence – able to advocate for data-driven decision-making.
