About the Role

The Financial Crime Threat Management Controls Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards through effective control execution. This role involves overseeing the implementation of controls, ensuring key areas of risk are properly managed, and maintaining high operational standards. With a strong focus on QC, the position is focused on ensuring conformance to established procedures and achieving consistent operational excellence.

What will your day look like?

As part of Operational Excellence, the FCTM Controls Manager will manage a team of financial crime specialists responsible for:

  • Managing and governing key functions that ensure robust control execution
  • Overseeing quality control (QC) function and ensuring compliance with ANZ’s internal policy requirements, operational standards and regulatory obligations
  • Identify, assess, and manage key areas of risk, ensuring appropriate mitigations are in place
  • Provide support and management of internal and external audits and Control Testing on behalf of FCTM
  • Support ongoing conformance reviews, focusing on key areas of risk, ensuring ANZ compliance with legislative, regulatory and internal policy requirements

  • Extensive experience in control execution, risk management, and compliance frameworks
  • Strong leadership and strategic management capabilities, with the ability to drive operational excellence across multiple teams
  • Ability to identify risks and implement effective control measures to mitigate them
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across diverse business units
