What you’ll be doing
This role requires a dynamic individual who can initially support one of our major projects through establishment of and ongoing support of ongoing procurement activity. The position will report into the Procurement Manager and will be accountable for developing supply chain intel reports and facilitate best practice procurement activities including:
- Preparation of robust RFQ’s
- Management and evaluation of returns
- Sourcing recommendations
- Ownership of Procurement Schedule updates
- Input into Procurement Strategies
The role has a requirement to build upon existing supply chain capacity and expertise, develop relationships with new suppliers where appropriate and embed collaborative working with the project teams, as well as the supply chain. The individual will also support Programme Specific initiatives and facilitate working groups bringing our internal technical teams, central strategic procurement teams, and supply chain together. This role will require occasional offsite travel.
Who we’re looking for
The following skills and experience are required:
- Good understanding of how to run end to end procurement projects from market research, through sourcing, to contract and supplier management.
- Working knowledge and understanding of NEC4 suite of contracts (desirable).
- Knowledge of procurement ERP and e-tendering systems (e.g. Oracle, 4Projects or similar).
- Knowledge of Subcontract Procurement Process.
- Demonstrates negotiation skills.
- Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against Programme milestones.
- Some experience in negotiating commercial deals and contractual terms and conditions.
- Commercially and financially aware with well-developed negotiating skills.
- Knowledge of the Construction & Buildings supply chain and/or market.
- MCIPS / studying towards CIPS / equivalent qualifications or experience.
