The Senior Buyer will be responsible for material procurement of all material packages for development(s) in line with agreed site budget(s) and project delivery. They will work in partnership & co-operation with the Project Team for operational and financial delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparing material tenders for project(s).
  • Managing supplier accounts to include raising payments, reviewing and assessing price increases and preparing and settling final accounts.
  • Reviewing and procuring material requests where appropriate.
  • Carrying out detailed package review meetings & driving value engineering opportunities of design & scope information.
  • Financial accountability for the material budget of project.
  • Identifying & establishing appropriate products to increase efficiency of the business.
  • Attending design team meetings and reviewing drawing changes.
  • Implementation of buying function in line with the Commercial Policies & Procedures Manual.
  • Producing valuation reports to advise of any cost movements and reporting to the Board of Directors on a quarterly basis.
About you:
  • Experience in a similar role with a track record of material procurement and management from project set up to completion.
  • London based residential development experience preferred.
  • Capable of working independently with minimum supervision and as part of the wider project team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to communicate with the relevant members of the Technical, Sales, Construction, Surveying and Finance teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Track record of delivery of large residential schemes from scheme development through to planning approval.
  • Experience of cross-functional teamworking with strong communication and engagement skills.
  • Degree educated with Construction experience preferred.
