A high performing, large AUM Hedge Fund, are looking to hire a London based ‘Business Strategy Officer’. The role supports a variety of ‘C-suite’ level professionals, taking responsibilities away from them, supporting a broad remit. Tasks are wide ranging, covering topics such as internal & external public relations, managing an international buildout such as new office launches (potentially in New York and Middle East over the next couple of years – managing strategic, financial and commercial considerations), facing off to the FCA on advisory matters, managing a range of matters with central banks & regulators, working with the Head of HR on a range of initiatives (including hiring strategy + D&I), but also extending to the design, implementation and buildout of new internal controls / reporting / operational infrastructure.
The work is predominately project based, requiring lots of research, analysis and the ability to present outcomes both internally and externally. The hiring manager favours candidates with first class degrees, in a relevant topic, from a leading university, with 5yrs+ relevant experience. The ideal candidate will most likely be a management consultant, that critically understands & has a strong interest in financial markets, currently working for a leading consultancy firm, or potentially a project manager currently working for an investment bank. Naturally, individuals working in a strategy team at a top tier IB or hedge fund professionals in similar roles are highly desirable. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a pre-requisite.
The role is targeted to pay a £150-200k total comp package year-one, with significant year-on-year compensation growth expected.
