This position is a key role within the UK Client & Broker Engagement (CBE) team, and reports directly to the Head of CBE, UK. This role is responsible for leading our strategic relationships with a select number of our Global and International Brokers.
Our Client and Broker Engagement (CBE) team manages AIG’s major client relationships across all product lines, as well as driving new business activity. The team serves major clients and broker partners through an elevated, personalized experience – our client-centric framework drives a consistent experience and best practice, while allowing flexibility to meet the client’s needs.
As a Broker Relationship Manager, you will be accountable for developing and driving increased retention, a healthy pipeline of new business and an enhanced share of wallet - in line with the agreed parameters of the service agreements with each broker partner. This role helps AIG grow profitably across the UK and product lines in line with a strongly governed framework.
Role Responsibilities:
- Accountable for developing and maintaining strategic relationships for the UK with one of the Global Brokers.
- Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining strategic relationships and create an ease of doing business with AIG.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Review (QBR) with the Broker as appropriate to provide governance of the deliverables under the agreements and drive performance.
- Lead the development and execution of best practice with Product Lines and other stakeholders.
- Lead the overall value of Distribution for the designated broker via various means including Production Meetings to drive retention and new business utilising Salesforce.
- Lead the articulation of our underwriting appetite and differentiating value proposition (including Multinational & Claims First) to the brokers.
- Help connect AIG leadership with key leaders at the Broking Houses.
- Review broker surveys and agree actions to improve broker experience.
- Utilise internal data (Salesforce, KPI 2.0 and iDive) and broker data to drive retention, new business opportunities and performance.
- Ensure leadership and input in the value chain between broker and product (and vice versa) to deliver growth.
- In conjunction with Client & Broker Leadership, Profit Centres and ELT (where appropriate), develop and implement strategic and operational business plans for designated broker.
- Work with AIG’s Product Leaders to create co-owned strategic initiatives/projects to deliver increased sales opportunities and support in creation and implementation of new product launches, portfolio and strategic projects.
- Lead identification and design of new opportunities for profitable growth, schemes, facilities, joint broker and client propositions and new product ideas, using internal data systems & maximising use of the broker systems.
- Monitor broker performance and delivery against sales, service plans and specific initiatives.
- Accelerate progress where opportune and undertake corrective action where required.
- Ensure all deals and agreements conform to required regulations.
- Ensure internal and external governance structures in place to identify and escalate key issues.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Broad insurance knowledge across P&C and Specialty.
- Solid profile and reputation in the UK commercial insurance market.
- Strong commercial background.
- Experience of working with Senior Underwriter, Product heads and other senior stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven interpersonal skills.
- Sales and business development experience.
- CII preferable.
