Royal Mail P&FS – Mobile Electrical and Maintenance Engineer Royal Mail P&FS is recruiting for a Mobile Electrical and Maintenance Engineer covering the BN and TN postcode areas. Job reference number: 324176 Salary: £37,570.35 per annum plus standby allowance of c£290 per week when on rota, and appropriate overtime rate when attending calls. 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 after 5 years\’ service, plus bank holidays. Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time. Typical hours are 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required. The successful candidate will join an out-of-hours callout rota, 1 in 4 weeks, covering a wider area. Role Overview We are seeking an electrically biased Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Facilities Maintenance Team. Key responsibilities include: Maintaining electrical systems across various commercial sites. Fault finding and advising customers on equipment like roller shutter doors and dock levellers. Basic plumbing tasks such as drainage, unblocking urinals and toilets, replacing taps, sinks, cisterns, and heating elements. Providing technical guidance and making judgments to meet quality, cost, and time objectives. Offering technical advice to staff and customers to resolve issues. Managing corrective and planned maintenance to meet contractual performance measures. Communicating with customer representatives to ensure requirements are met. Completing all necessary paperwork accurately. Acting as a safety role model and managing customer relationships professionally. Candidate Requirements Electrical certification such as the 18th Edition. City and Guilds 2382 & 2391 testing and inspection certification. Experience in planned maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems. Fault finding and diagnostic skills, with the ability to guide others. Effective communication skills with customers. Ability to analyze complex electrical issues. Preferably IPAF and MEWP trained and comfortable working at heights. Experience dealing with customers in a commercial setting. Valid UK driving license with no endorsements preferred. Computer literacy is advantageous.
