Job Title: Base24 Lead Engineer

Location: Swindon (hybrid)

About the Role:

We’re looking for a skilled Base24 Lead Engineer to design, develop, and support ATM/POS software solutions for a leading UK building society. You will lead a team of engineers and play a key role in driving Base24 projects, system enhancements, and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain Base24 applications (Classic and EPS).
2. Lead migration and enhancement projects, including Visa scheme updates.
3. Provide technical leadership and mentor a team of Base24 engineers.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient and secure solutions.
5. Troubleshoot incidents and ensure system stability and performance.
6. Strong experience in Base24 development (Classic and/or EPS).
7. Proficient in TAL, COBOL, S-COBOL.
8. Deep knowledge of ATM/POS systems, transaction switching, VISA/LINK, and EMV.
9. Experience with HP NonStop systems and tools (VersaTest, XPNET, Enform, etc.).
10. Familiarity with card schemes (Visa, MasterCard, LINK).
11. Strong analytical and communication skills.
12. Experience with Base24 EPS migration.
13. Knowledge of tools like Iliad, Paragon, Visa VTS.
14. Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
