The Role

Are you ready to embark on a challenging and rewarding career in risk? We are seeking a passionate Junior Risk Analyst to join our expanding Risk team in London. This new role offers the opportunity to support day-to-day risk reporting and limit monitoring while acting as the first point of contact between our Commercial/Front Office team and acting as a bridge between trading, risk, and technology.

You\’ll get the opportunity to work closely and gain valuable insights from experienced Senior Risk Analysts based in Edinburgh, giving you a unique chance to develop into a quant, commercial or senior risk role.

Summary of Responsibilities

1. Monitor and report risk limits across power, gas, and environmental markets (e.g., P&L, VaR, exposures, stress tests)
2. Produce daily and ad-hoc risk reports using Power BI, Python, and Excel
3. Coordinate with the Commercial team to align risk reporting assumptions and product setup
4. Support integration of risk systems across locations (London, Edinburgh, Prague, Switzerland)
5. Assist in onboarding new products into risk systems and ETRM tools
6. Collaborate with IT and senior risk team to improve data pipelines and model inputs
7. Learn and contribute to ongoing development of valuation tools and reporting dashboards
8. Participate in cross-office calls, with occasional travel to Prague and Edinburgh for integration work

Why you?

You are SQL savvy or have similar database querying, with a strong understanding of power markets, particularly in the UK and continental Europe. Numeracy is your forte; you are curious about valuation models and keen to grow both technically and commercially. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills mean you can collaborate effectively with both the risk and trading teams. You will be eager to learn from and support senior colleagues, demonstrating humility, kindness, and a team-oriented attitude.

While it is not essential, if you have passed or are studying for the FRM exam, or have experience with ETRM systems or KYOS models, or an interest to learn, this would be a plus.
