The PSS Engineer will be working on electrical projects on behalf of the Company that will involve projects up to 132kV (mainly BESS and PV sites), working as part of a team to complete the PSS requirements of the packages. You will be required to adhere to all safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
Responsibilities
- Power system analysis including: Load flow study, Reactive power capability & compensation equipment sizing & specification, Short-circuit/fault level study and equipment rating.
- Voltage Control and Reactive Power Stability, Frequency Response (LFSM-O, LFSM-U, FSM), Fault Ride Through (FRT), Fast Fault Current Injection (FFCI), G5/4 or G5/5 harmonics, including filter design.
- Electromagnetic transients, transformer energisation, voltage fluctuations and flicker, AC System voltage variations, Insulation Coordination, Protection coordination, Arc Flash.
- Attend Site visits if required to support the construction team.
- Arrange/attend design review meetings with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Design to the project ERs and applicable policies and standards.
- Maintaining the design section of the project program of works up to date.
- Knowledge of the deadlines and requirements of the project milestone payments.
