Senior Management Accountant

Our client a leading charity care provider across the Island of Ireland is currently recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant for their Belfast office. The successful individual will take responsibility for ensuring the Finance team meets deadlines, maintaining a high standard of work, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Moreover, the candidate will report directly to our Head of Finance, preparing and analysing monthly management accounts, preparing budgets, and providing relevant financial information, costing information, and advice to divisional directors.

Main Tasks

• Leading and managing our team of Accountants – providing advice and guidance as and when required.

• Reviewing the work produced by the accounting team (i.e. Monthly Management Accounts/ Budget bills, costing schedules, etc) and ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and completeness of the work.

• Ensuring the timely completion of all work set – coordinating with other teams to ensure smooth work flow and implementing strategies to improve overall team efficiency.

• Assigning relevant training within the team and developing a comprehensive training program.

• Evaluating existing processes and recommending/ implementing fixes to enhance efficiency, staying abreast of industry trends to ensure best practices within the Management Accounting team.

• Serve as the main point of contact between the management accounting team and the Head of Finance.

• Relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Qualified Accountant with a recognised accounting board; CIMA / ICA/ ACCA / CIPFA / CPA

• Previous experience in management accounting with 2/3 years in a supervisory position.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills would be ideal.

• Computerised finance package experience and experience with Excel.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
