A leading retailer is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its legal team. This role is ideal for an 1+ PQE lawyer with expertise in commercial law, offering the opportunity to work on a broad range of matters, including IP strategy, contract negotiation, supplier agreements, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including supplier, distribution, partnership, licensing, and marketing contracts.
  • Ensure the company adheres to UK, EU, and other relevant regulatory requirements, advising on consumer law, data protection, and other compliance matters.
  • Advise on e-commerce regulations, data protection, and privacy compliance to drive online expansion.
  • Negotiate key partnerships with leading online retailers and marketplaces.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer (1+ PQE) with experience in commercial law, gained in private practice or in-house.
  • Previous in-house experience within an international context, particularly in the retail/luxury fashion industry, is highly advantageous.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, practical advice to non-legal stakeholders.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with a keen interest in working in a fast-moving business environment.
