Salary: £35,000- £40,000 DOE + profit driven bonus scheme. Full-time, permanent with weekend and evening work required.

Role Responsibilities
- General: Responsibility for running the venue, driving the balance between customer and client experience, practical considerations, budget, creative vision, legislation and safe operations. Feed into the refurbishment of the venue and venue strategy. Driving the commercial viability of the venue and new business development.
- Leadership: Recruiting, leading, and nurturing the core and freelance operations team. Ensuring companywide processes and ethos is implemented. Fostering a culture of respect, inclusivity, and passion. Team development, training, feedback, and support. Alongside marketing and bookings departments, plan, execute, and review all venue activity, ensuring public facing communications are accurate and reflective of the venue’s vision. Represent the venue at budget and reporting meetings with the wider company.
- Operations: Setting up and managing financial, commercial, safety, and HR systems and processes in line with wider company strategy. Key holder / Duty Manager for live events. Overseeing implementation of legislation and industry best practice. Implement, maintain and review full suite of venue documentation, including but not limited to H&S policy, production packs, venue info, accessibility policy, EMPs, FRA, safety checklists. Lead on licensing compliance, stakeholder management, ensuring relevant actions are taken to ensure compliance. Monitor the quality of event execution and oversee continual improvement. Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and suppliers, monitor delivery. Facility management, ensuring all venue services are fit for purpose and operating efficiently. Budget management. Streamlining costs, brokering deals, benchmarking and tapping into wider company deals if appropriate. Ensuring procurement, purchase ordering, approval and payments processes are followed, and reporting on budget and planning status on behalf of the venue team.
Personal Specification
- Essential: Extensive (5 years) project management experience running projects / events / venues. Excellent working knowledge of events and/or venues. Minimum of 3 years’ experience successfully coordinating multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels and via all mediums. Competent IT literacy including MS Office (notably XL), Google Drive, file sharing platforms such as Dropbox. Proven ability to manage budgets. Highly organised, confident, diligent, resourceful and hardworking. Confident, responsive and pro-active communicator. Creative and positive problem solver. Excellent attention to detail. Quick to pick up and implement processes, willingness to learn and develop.
- Desirable: Up to date knowledge of event industry best practice and regulatory requirements. Capable CAD user for 2d site/ floor planning (Vector Works preferably or Autocad). Relevant event focused Health & Safety Qualification(s). Experience of Event Site Management. First Aid Qualification(s).
