Supporting the Franchise Division and Group functions providing end-to-end recruitment services. LSL Property Services is one of the UK’s largest providers of services to franchised estate agencies, mortgage intermediaries, and valuation services for many of the UK’s biggest mortgage lenders. We are looking for a Commercial and Corporate Solicitor to join our in-house legal team at our York Head Office on a fixed term contract.

As the Commercial and Corporate Solicitor, you will provide legal support across a wide variety of matters including commercial contracts, corporate transactions, franchising, and contentious issues, as well as contribute to data protection and information security across the Group. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially aware, proactive solicitor looking to work within a fast-paced, supportive, and collaborative business environment.

Main Accountabilities & Key Objectives:

  • Business Legal Support
    • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements (including distribution, mortgage club, and valuation services contracts)
    • Provide franchising advice and draft associated legal documentation for the LSL Franchise network
    • Support the business on contentious matters, including commercial disputes and data protection claims
  • Corporate Transactions
    • Support the General Counsel and Head of Legal with strategic acquisitions and disposals
    • Manage communications and coordination with external counsel on more complex transactions or disputes
    • Assist with documentation of loans made by the Financial Services and Franchising Divisions
  • Commercial Contracts
    • Provide legal advice and practical support on general commercial contracts across all business areas
  • Data Protection & Information Security
    • Deliver legal support on data protection issues and draft relevant agreements
    • Advise on compliance within the Group’s data protection and privacy practices

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with a minimum of 3 years' PQE (as at 2025)
  • Strong legal expertise in commercial contracts, corporate law, and data protection
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines and prioritise effectively
  • Commercially astute with strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to build positive stakeholder relationships across business areas
  • Enthusiastic team player with a client-focused approach and solution-oriented mindset
