The Opportunity:
LCP Delta, our energy team, has passionate people using data, insights, and models across all aspects of energy, including electricity generation and emerging new technologies. We have a mission to accelerate the energy transition globally, supporting a range of clients from energy giants to start-ups, traders to strategists, investors to manufacturers.
Your Role:
You’ll join a large group of modellers and software developers within LCP Delta, predominantly coding in C#, helping to develop our cutting-edge technology in energy modelling and data integration. Examples include: Enact, which processes and visualises real-time data for short-term power markets; and STOREcast which forecasts future revenues for battery storage through mathematical optimisation algorithms.

- Building up knowledge and experience in C#, taking on coding developments with an increasingly high degree of independence
- Solving real-world problems through mathematical, statistical, and machine learning techniques
- Maintaining and improving existing models and software used internally and/or externally
- Engaging with modern software development practices such as workflow management, code reviews, branching and merging, testing
- Developing knowledge of the GB energy market, and potentially beyond into Europe
- Investigating and analysing complex energy data
- Expanding skills and knowledge through regular training
Professional Development:
We encourage continuous learning through professional qualifications and personal development training. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside leading professionals in the sector.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Level Maths A Grade (taking into account any contextualisation of grades).
- Degree educated (minimum 2:1) or currently studying for a degree and on track to achieve a 2:1 – STEM subject
- Programming experience – a reasonable level of experience with coding languages such as Python or C is expected. Languages such as MATLAB or R would be seen as useful but less relevant.
- Competence with Microsoft Excel and data analysis
- Problem solving, numeracy, and analytical skills

As well as joining a multi-award winning, fun, collaborative, people-first organisation where your personal and professional skills will be developed to make you the best you can be, we offer an attractive benefits package designed to promote your overall wellbeing so that you are able to perform to your full potential both in and out of work.
