About the role
The IS Product Owner for retailer works within the IS team of Booker, and is responsible for delivering effective, secure and efficient systems in Retail to help improve customer satisfaction and cash profit. The Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle to deliver exceptional value and user experience.
You will be responsible for:
- Product Backlog Management: Creating, prioritizing, and refining the product backlog to reflect business and customer needs, while collaborating with stakeholders for requirements and feedback.
- Product Documentation: Developing comprehensive specification documents to guide design and technical teams, ensuring clarity and actionable direction.
- Quality Assurance: Implementing processes for testing and defect resolution to maintain high-quality standards and meet acceptance criteria.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitating alignment through discussions, updates, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Team Collaboration: Partnering with external development teams to define acceptance criteria, plan development sprints, and ensure timely delivery.
- Customer Advocacy: Championing customer needs via feedback incorporation and prioritising user experience throughout product decisions.
You will need:
- Good understanding of retail technology including EPOS, Home delivery and order capture systems.
- Knowledge of wholesale industry business processes.
- Good people management, with proven ability to effectively work with other internal and external teams.
- Technical project management skills and successful delivery of retail applications.
