12 month FTC

Are you an established HR Business Partner with experience delivering commercial HR support to a large, multi-site workforce? Are you comfortable spending c3 days per week on the road, visiting sites across the Midlands region?

I am supporting a large retail organisation appoint a HR Business Partner for a 12 month FTC to support their Midlands region. This role will work closely with the Regional Director and Regional Managers to deliver operational and strategic HR support to stores. The organisation is evolving how their HR BPs support their regions. Currently, c60% of the role is more tactical and operationally focused, with c40% of the role delivering on project led initiatives around engagement, workforce planning and talent.

Over the next 12 months, they are looking to increase management capability to free up the HR BPs to operate more strategically and support the retail divisions as true commercial HR partners to the business. This role will be supporting a region that has experienced a lot of change and has plenty more to come! It requires a resilient HR BP that isn’t afraid to challenge and influence at a senior level. The role will always have an element of delivering on complex or high risk ER processes for your area.

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar regionally focused HR BP role for a retail organisation or highly commercial multi-site operation. They will also be confident in saying no to stakeholders, in order to have the bandwidth to deliver on the ‘bigger picture’. Resilience plays a key part in any retail HR BP role and this is no different. You will be a key change agent for your area so need to be able to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders to move the region forward in line with the wider business agenda.

So, what’s the role?

  • Upskill and coach stakeholders on HR best practice
  • Collaborate with the wider HR BP team and centre of excellence
  • Utilise people data and performance metrics to feed into localised people plan
  • Travel to stores c3 days per week with c2 days working from home
