Cure Talent is delighted to partner with a leading UK manufacturer who specialise in the design and production of high-quality packaging machinery solutions for the medical device industry. We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join this company’s engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design principles and will play a crucial role in designing and developing packaging machinery, automation equipment, jigs and fixtures to meet both company and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mechanical engineering expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to commissioning
- Assist in drafting User Requirement Specifications and translating them into Design Specifications
- Design components, mechanisms, and assemblies using SolidWorks, ensuring optimal materials and manufacturing methods
- Create detailed CAD drawings with appropriate tolerances and manufacturing notes
- Specify and procure bought-in components as required
- Develop and manage Bill of Materials (BOMs) within company systems
- Deliver innovative engineering solutions for machine design challenges
- Conduct research and prototype testing for new processes and concepts
- Produce and maintain technical documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in designing packaging or automation equipment
- Degree in Design, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience working with medical packaging and/or medical devices
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar CAD software)
- Understanding of engineering and workshop machinery
