We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Commercial Lawyer with media rights distribution experience to join a fast-paced, collaborative legal and BA team on a one-year fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a globally recognised entertainment brand at the cutting edge of media, technology, and commercial partnerships.
The Role
You will play a central role in advising on, drafting and negotiating a broad range of high-value commercial agreements, with a particular focus on media rights and digital distribution. As part of a well-established team, you will also provide guidance and supervision to junior lawyers and paralegals, while working closely with internal stakeholders across multiple departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating media rights agreements, including the distribution of live event programming, documentaries, feature films, and related digital content.
- Supporting the operation of OTT and other digital media services, including advice on consumer terms, data protection, and promotional strategies.
- Advising on sponsorship, licensing (including experiential and gaming), and advertising agreements.
- Providing legal support for content production, including photography, music, and contributor agreements.
- Drafting complex service agreements, including those related to website development and broadcast delivery.
- Supporting procurement processes and negotiating agreements relating to goods, services, and data processing.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years' post-qualification experience.
- Strong experience in commercial contracts, with particular expertise in linear and/or OTT media rights.
- Excellent legal drafting skills and a commercial mindset.
- Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working efficiently under pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
