This international law firm has over 20 global offices delivering a full range of legal services, especially those of a complex, high-profile and multi-jurisdictional nature. Their core sectors are aviation, insurance and reinsurance, international trade and energy and shipping. Their Surrey Finance Department is looking to hire an Accounts Assistant, on a full-time permanent basis. This is a busy role supporting the UK Client Accounting team.
The main responsibilities of this role will be to provide administrative support. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, capable of prioritising activities and liaising internally and externally with stakeholders at all levels.
- Daily download of UK Client and Office bank accounts.
- Record and identify new client receipts as to which practice area they relate to for passing to the relevant Legal Cashier and keeping a log of the same.
- Record and identify new office receipts, maintaining a register of receipts and recording of office receipts against Debtors ledger within the firms accounting system, Elite 3E.
- Reconciliation of suspense accounts ensuring that unidentified receipts are returned promptly.
- Reconciliation of unplaced receipts ledger.
- Dealing Bank reconciliations.
- Ad hoc projects for Legal Cashier Team Leader and Client Money & Financial Compliance Manager.
- Release payments through online banking platforms (after passing 6 months’ probation).
Candidate Profile
- Strong Excel skills and highly numerate.
- Possess strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise key tasks.
- Working knowledge of Elite 3E advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
- Working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
