Join our dynamic team at Disney Store as an Assistant Buyer. Support the Buyer and Associate Buyer by enhancing workflow and leveraging your knowledge of brands and consumer segments. Build strong cross-functional partnerships to drive our channels forward. Under their mentorship, help shape product assortments that meet financial goals. Manage daily tasks, including the purchase order process, and ensure compliance with legal standards to maintain smooth product and commercial flow. This role is based out of our Hammersmith office, requiring presence 4 days a week.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with the Buyer, utilizing expertise in critical path management for product development.
- Partner with the Buyer to ensure all product development approvals are completed in a timely manner.
- Stay informed about market activity and provide product recommendations through quarterly competitive and trend analysis at the category level across all channels and regional markets.
- Prepare and maintain photobooks as needed, aligning with the product flow calendar and quarterly showcase deliverables.
- Provide all product details, navigation, and quarterly product briefs to support product hand-off to site merchandising, creative, and visual teams.
- Monitor and communicate the product quality report in collaboration with Product Integrity (PI) and implement agreed action plans.
- Act with integrity, embrace change, and represent The Walt Disney Company (TWDC) positively.
- Communicate with key partners and teams on range plans, including adjustments, and provide consistent, timely updates, including off-cycle franchise procurement.
- Create presentation decks, business recaps, and hindsight reports for key milestone meetings, coordinating data points from key partners.
- Track delivery of all category POs in partnership with sourcing and planning, escalate shipment issues at the point of source in a timely manner, and contribute to identifying and resolving sales risks.
- Ensure the accuracy of the range plan assortment and manage it effectively.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in a similar level buying role within a retail, omni-channel buying environment is essential.
- Previous experience as a Buyers Assistant, including related responsibilities.
- Degree-level education in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a buying department operating across global markets is desirable.
- Strong communication skills across all levels of the business.
- High levels of organization and attention to detail.
- Financial aptitude.
- Skilled in managing multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Computer literate, proficient in key Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Resilient and adaptable in an ever-changing landscape.
- Strong written and spoken English for business use is essential.
- Proficiency in merchandise systems and processes.
- Cultural sensitivity and understanding of global markets.
