AXIOM is one of the DSA alliance partners and is an unincorporated Joint Venture (JV) made up of three major engineering contracting companies each with complementary capabilities and skills. We are seeking a Principal HVAC Engineer to join our team in Stockton. The role will support the HVAC Capability team in all aspects of HVAC and Building Services, preferably with knowledge and experience in nuclear standards and processes, specifically the delivery of the design of HVAC Systems or modification to existing HVAC Systems. Able to be client facing and demonstrate confidence as a subject matter expert hence able to support all stakeholders.
- Design of Ventilation systems from basic principles and an understanding of containment philosophy
- Production of HVAC system design deliverables, specifying heat rejection plant (e.g. air / water cooled condensers, heat pumps and heat recovery systems of varying types)
- The design of HVAC systems for cooling industrial process environments
- Production of system schematics / Engineering Flow Diagrams (EFDs)
- Preparation of psychrometric calculations
- Degree in Building Services Engineering or minimum HND plus extensive experience in the industry
- Experience in the Use of industry standard software such as Hevacomp, Revit and Pipenet
- Thermal modelling experience would be an advantage
- Aware of EG_0_1738_1 - Ventilation of Radioactive Areas
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role/environment, with recent relevant exposure of work in a regulated industry
- An understanding of AutoCAD packages and its capabilities
