About Our UK Design Centres Our UK centers in Cambridge and Bristol, established in 2022, focus on developing high-performance, low-power embedded and application CPU cores from scratch. These projects are complex, often with individual ownership of design portions, under the guidance of Senior CPU Design Manager Kalvin Williams. YOUR ROLE: We\’re seeking Senior Hardware Engineers to join our Cambridge or Bristol offices. You will collaborate with international teams on innovative projects, working on complex designs and establishing high-quality practices. Responsibilities: Define and implement the microarchitecture of RISC-V processors and extensions Develop within the Codasip Architectural Language (CodAL) Perform synthesis and analyze results to meet PPA goals Collaborate with verification teams on planning, debugging, and sign-off Write technical specifications and documentation Participate in design and verification reviews Estimate, plan, and track your work Requirements: Over 2 years of recent module design experience using HDL (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog) Knowledge of computer systems and architecture Ability to write clear, concise code Experience with digital circuit simulation Proficiency with Linux Familiarity with version control tools (Git, SVN) Knowledge of scripting languages (Shell, Bash, Python) Analytical thinking, independence, teamwork skills Ability to debug across teams and identify root causes Nice-to-Have: Knowledge of RISC-V instruction set Advanced understanding of computer systems and architecture Experience with synthesis, DFT, and timing analysis Low power design techniques Formal verification experience Knowledge of C/C++ Benefits: Join Codasip\’s UK team to work on challenging projects and influence design practices.
