Role Summary:
Cleo is seeking a highly skilled Freelance Game Systems Designer to be a Founding Member of our Gamification Ventures team. This role is pivotal in crafting and refining game systems that enhance user engagement and monetisation through gamification across the Cleo app. The successful candidate will work iteratively on developing engaging progression systems, in-app currencies, re-engagement loops, and rewards, fostering habit formation, moments of joy and increasing user interaction within Cleo.
What you will do:
- System Design: Conceptualise and develop comprehensive game systems that align with Cleo’s strategic objectives, including user engagement, multi-product adoption, virality, and retention.
- Collaboration: Work alongside product managers and designers to weave gamified elements seamlessly throughout the Cleo app.
- Innovation and Scalability: Create adaptable game mechanics and reward systems that evolve with the product and user needs.
- Own the fun: Be the advocate and in-house expert on how and when we add juice and game-feel to the Cleo app.
- Testing and Optimisation: Continuously test, refine, and balance our game system based on user feedback and analytics to maximise engagement and effectiveness.
Requirements:
- Proven Experience: Extensive background in game design, especially in mobile and social gaming contexts.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of game mechanics, in-app economies, and user engagement strategies.
- Iterative Design: Experience in rapid prototyping and iterative design processes.
- Complex Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication and Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experienced Designer: You have successfully designed game systems for mobile applications, evidenced by a portfolio showcasing your impact on user engagement and retention.
- Adaptability: You are adept at integrating gamification within non-gaming contexts, particularly in apps focused on personal productivity or financial health.
- Contract Flexibility: Comfortable working in a contract position, with potential for extension based on project success and strategic fit.
How long will the process take?
We aim to move as fast as possible. Usually 1-2 weeks is enough time for us all to get to know each other.
Step 1: An initial 30 mins intro phone call with a member of our Talent Team to learn more about your experience and why you want to work at Cleo.
