As a Product Manager in Credit Derivative Trading Technology, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.
Job responsibilities- Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers.
- Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap.
- Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition.
- Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability.
- Partners closely with engineering teams to ensure value, context and acceptance criteria are well defined; may aid with writing JIRAs and beta testing features.
- Reviews the long-term product roadmap and ensures roadmap balances modernization, stability and new features, while regularly updating business partners with the roadmap progress and plans.
- Applies a disciplined cost vs benefit vs capacity to all prioritization decisions in partnership with business.
- Traverses all streams that the product intersects to understand and plan around cross dependencies due to horizontal engineering effort.
- Communicates to business training for new features, status updates for in-progress items including risk/challenges and mitigation plans.
- Conducts trader-facing activities on the trading floor.
- Expertise in product management or a relevant domain area.
- Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics.
- Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management.
- Proven influence and decision making skills including ability to debate in a data driven manner with the courage to hold business partners to account.
- Understanding of the underlying technology components to guide users towards workable features.
- Agile experience: JIRA, sprint planning, retrospectives, grooming and backlog prioritization.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure trading floor environment where expectations are significant in partnership with traders, quantitative analytics (quants), and engineers.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and teamwork ethic; excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to think locally and execute globally.
- Effective commercial awareness and ability to pro-actively suggest new product and enhancements to existing product to help tangible revenue results.
- Analytical mind-set with a keen interest in statistical analysis, data mining & data visualization.
- Ability to work autonomously and self-directed.
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree level in Computer Science, Math, or engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with technologies such as Python and React, Lucid, Tableau and Microsoft suites, including Teams.
