We are currently recruiting a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join our successful Defended Debt Recovery Litigation team as a Legal Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and supervise a team of paralegals, managing a portfolio of litigation services from protocol stage to enforcement.
This role is ideal for individuals with a minimum of 3 years’ PQE in commercial litigation, particularly those with experience in fast-track debt recovery claims. The position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in complex litigation matters, provide strategic advice, and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and performance.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervising and managing a team handling portfolio litigation services for debt recovery.
- Running a caseload of litigated debt recovery matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory and court rules.
- Providing strategic analysis on litigation actions, including cost-benefit assessments.
- Supporting and mentoring junior fee earners, offering training and guidance.
- Ensuring compliance with SRA and FCA regulations in all defended cases.
- Overseeing deadlines and critical dates to ensure timely case progression.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date legal advice to clients.
- Undertaking legal research as required and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting business development activities and increasing the firm's profile in the market.
Person Specification:
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years' PQE in commercial litigation, with a focus on debt recovery.
- Strong knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) for small and fast-track claims.
- Experience in managing and supervising litigated debt recovery cases.
- Ability to delegate and prioritise workloads effectively within a team setting.
- Excellent IT skills, with the ability to produce reports and provide strategic advice to clients.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
