About The Role: Day to day management of the Company's operations at its Ridham Dock, Ridham Sea Terminals, ensuring effective and safe delivery of all operational activities undertaken on these sites in a compliant manner and in accordance with agreed business and financial objectives. Efficient operation, maintenance and repair of all fixed and mobile plant and equipment at each site using internal and external resources.

Main Role Responsibilities:

  • Managing day to day operations, including overseeing the operations team and business units
  • Lead supervisor meetings and handovers between shifts, including daily nightshift plan
  • Control of sub-contractors and their activities on the Sites including Permits
  • Liaise with the Plant Workshop to ensure PPM and readiness for machine works to be undertaken, especially on leading up to plant shutdowns
  • Monitor all output/production targets across all processing and other operations as set by Senior Management and report daily on meeting these targets
  • Provide cover for other positions within the operational roles at the Sites where necessary
  • Ensure Focus timesheets are correct and ready for payroll
  • Action holiday requests and update absences on Cascade platform including RTW documents
  • Regular site walks, addressing non compliances and generating lists to delegate to ensure site compliance
  • Weekly roster for all operations and engineering
  • Reconcile out of hours tipping and stocks with finance team
  • Attending regular meetings and planning vessel loading schedule
  • Updating Training Matrix
  • Update My Compliance regarding accidents and near misses
  • Regular Plant/Machine inspections
  • Ensure Checkproof is being used on all machinery and identifying defects raised
  • Developing and maintaining good relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Ensure all appropriate safety equipment and PPE are always used in accordance with site rules
  • Liaise with the commercial team regarding outgoing load requirements
  • Weekly stock takes of all operations departments to be completed and information sent to relevant personnel
  • Assist with weighbridge when required, learning AMCS system to help run reports
  • Effectively manage stock rotation for all relevant operations to comply with Site Permit and all Senior Management instructions
  • Organise for purchase orders to be raised and issued in advance of purchasing any items or services as dictated by Company Policy
  • Comply with all Health, Safety, HR, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Maintaining and enforcing health and safety guidelines

About you:

Essential Skills, Experience, Qualifications & Competencies:

  • System knowledge to include: Accounts, Time Recording, HR, Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience of managing teams within multiple processes
  • Experience within a manual work environment operating fixed and mobile plant
  • Experience of Employee Relations issues
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Leadership Communications Skills
  • Highly Organised
  • Ability to Prioritise and allocate work accordingly

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within the waste/recycling industry
  • COTC-WAMITAB Level 4
