Purpose of the Role
Everywhen (formally Ardonagh Advisory, part of the Ardonagh Group) is one of the UK’s largest independent brokers with over 9000 dedicated and passionate professionals across the country, and worldwide, facing and dealing with our clients’ challenges, offering an enviable range of products, services and solutions to their clients. We are progressive, passionate and proud of the work we do, across all sectors of the business. Therefore, we need highly capable people to join our team to make this a reality!
We are seeking a motivated ER Consultant to join our team to support our continued growth.
This is a home based role which predominantly involves providing employee relations advice and guidance to line managers and business leads. The right person to join our team will be commercially astute with experience of managing complex employee relations (ER) cases in a pragmatic and problem-solving mindset.
What you will do
This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Collaborating with your Line Manager, you will develop your own objectives but focus on all of the following and more:
- Advise and coach line managers to effectively manage all employee relations issues in line with HR policy and guidance across the full scope of ER cases and processes.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of Employment legislation and case law in order to educate and coach line managers through a range of Employee Relations interventions, with the view to improving their understanding and ability to prevent and / or manage future issues
- Provide guidance to employees when required in relation to HR policies and processes.
- Ensure effective and timely case management of people related issues.
- Develop and maintain personal expertise and best practice across the team, share knowledge and case management experience, ensuring a consistent approach to all cases.
- Support the monitoring, review and updating of HR policies, procedures and toolkits.
Who we are looking for
- An experienced ER consultant, if this is within a regulated environment this would be helpful but don’t worry if not, we can help you develop that knowledge.
- A strong working knowledge of employment law, case law and HR best practice and proven experience of implementing it practically will be a key strength of yours.
- A problem solver! Always thinking how you can solve a problem whilst considering and balancing the risks of each of your options. That means we can provide the best possible advice and option, to facilitate managers to make the right choice for the business and importantly our colleagues.
- A team player – we work remotely so ability to work autonomously is important but so is the way we treat each other when we meet face to face as this makes a huge difference to the way we work and support each other. It’s tough in HR and a good team who has your back makes all the difference.
- An influencer with the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the business, taking a proactive approach rather than reactive, communicating effectively across all mediums.
- Organisational, planning and time management skills whilst working to tight deadlines maintaining accuracy, quality and attention to detail is crucial. Flexibility is also important with ever changing workload priorities.
- Proven ability to demonstrate an understanding of the business and how HR can support the delivery of business goals – this is about solving business issues with people solutions.
- Are you happy to speak up and help put forward your ideas when things could be better? Importantly can you help with what the solutions could be? If so, you will fit right in, so we look forward to your application!
- CIPD qualified or working towards.
In return you will be welcomed and supported by our Ardonagh family and be joining an organisation that cares about you as a person and your wellbeing. Some of the other benefits are:
