The Opportunity
The Head of Marketing, Strategy & Planning leads the creation and implementation of Arup’s global marketing strategy and plan. This includes the delivery of global marketing strategies that enhance Arup’s brand and support business objectives, aligning marketing efforts with Arup’s global strategy and business priorities defined in Arup’s integrated business plan.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of Arup marketing strategy in collaboration with Business and Markets Leadership, Marketing Communications & Business Development (MCBD) Global and Region Leadership, aligning objectives with Arup strategy and integrated business plan priorities.
- Commission the creation and execution of global integrated marketing campaigns (including global brand campaigns), collaborating with region MCBD teams to tailor campaigns to local markets.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of talent and alumni related marketing and communications related external campaigns, including early careers recruitment, market-specific talent acquisition and alumni focused campaigns to ensure alignment with brand strategy.
- Develop and manage global marketing budget, including allocation of resources and spend to optimize ROI.
- Develop Arup’s brand strategy, including defining and maintaining Arup’s brand positioning and messaging, visual and verbal guidelines and establishing brand performance metrics.
- Oversee the management of brand guidelines, processes, systems and templates that support maintaining brand integrity, ensuring consistency (verbal and visual) across all touchpoints and regions.
- Oversee global creative services, supporting and enabling a robust creative services network.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a digital marketing and social media strategy, ensuring alignment to marketing strategy, brand strategy and annual marketing plan.
- Oversee management of digital marketing and social media platforms and channels.
- Oversee the development of research capabilities to support brand, market, client, and competitor research.
- Oversee provision of high quality and valued research services to Business and Markets and MCBD.
- Oversee the management of an overarching marketing campaigns calendar / schedule for significant global and regional marketing campaign activity.
- Oversee delivery of services within the role’s remit, driving operation excellence, including standardization of processes and use of technology to enhance productivity.
- Oversee vendor and agency management related to service remit.
- Oversee development and delivery of firm-wide marketing knowledge management systems required for marketing and strategic planning with a focus on user experience, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team.
- Performance management and career development. Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to team members.
Experience:
- Significant, proven experience in a senior strategic marketing and communications role within a global business and proven track record in marketing strategy and marketing planning, brand management, digital marketing and/or marketing communications.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a large team in an international business and in applying business partnering models across a range of marketing and communications specialisms.
- Demonstrated experience in building, managing and reporting on marketing budgets.
- Experience in leading change, innovation and operational excellence within MCBD functions.
Knowledge:
- Undergraduate or further degree in marketing and/or postgraduate professional qualification in marketing.
- Knowledge of current trends and developments in marketing, particularly in strategy, brand and application of digital tools and techniques.
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
