Parkside Recruitment are looking for an Electronics Engineer for a research client situated in Alperton. This role involves the design, development, and testing of electronic and electrical systems and firmware across new and existing SMS products.

Role Overview: In this position, you will be responsible for creating reliable and sustainable electronic solutions for SMS products. Your work will cover everything from circuit design to firmware development, ensuring that all systems meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Circuit & PCB Design: Design and develop analogue, digital, and signal processing circuits. Create PCB layouts, wiring diagrams, and generate comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Prototyping & Testing: Assemble prototypes and perform functional, environmental, and reliability tests. Troubleshoot and refine designs based on test outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including software and R&D, to integrate electronic systems into larger products. Develop firmware or embedded software in collaboration with software engineers.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure designs comply with quality standards, safety regulations, and certifications (e.g., EMC Directive, Low Voltage Directive). Maintain technical documentation and support risk assessments as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
  • 1-5 years experience in electronics design and development.
  • Proficiency with STM32 microcontrollers, embedded C/C++, and PCB design tools.
  • Familiarity with PLM/PDM systems and quality management standards (e.g., ISO9001:2008, ISO13485).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
