We’re seeking a skilled Senior Planning Engineer to join a high-performing project controls team working on large-scale energy infrastructure delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to help drive progress in the global energy transition, contributing to major projects that are shaping a more sustainable future.
As part of the project controls function, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing planning and scheduling activities, ensuring that critical infrastructure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and within budget. You’ll work cross-functionally, liaising with senior leadership, technical teams, and external partners to provide insights and influence decision-making at every stage of the project lifecycle. This role may also offer growth into broader project controls responsibilities, including cost control, depending on your experience and interests.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead planning and scheduling for large-scale, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Build and maintain project baselines, resource forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Identify and mitigate schedule risks and blockers through detailed analysis and team collaboration.
- Present data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate schedule interfaces across internal teams and third parties.
- Support change management, time impact analysis, and claims preparation.
- Collaborate with cost and risk teams to ensure alignment across controls functions.
- 5+ years’ experience in project planning and scheduling, including team leadership.
- Advanced user of Primavera P6 (essential).
- Background in large infrastructure or complex engineering projects.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in schedule risk analysis, claims, and forensic planning is a plus.
- Familiarity with cost control and integrated project controls preferred.
- Analytical mindset, proactive approach, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Location: UK or EU-based preferred (flexibility on location for the right candidate)
