Aramark UK is looking to hire an experienced and dedicated Sous Chef to join the team at Alton Towers Resort. This is an exciting, permanent, and full-time opportunity reporting into our Head Chef on site and will lead day to day kitchen operations within the hotels. We have four Hotels, Waterpark and Conference centre. You will have the opportunity to lead, coach and develop a large team and be involved in our constant innovation and evolving product.
The Sous chef will champion the people part of our business, and support our Head Chef in carrying out team 1-2-1s, completing rotas and training plans. Our Sous chef will also lead on large events and formal dinners. Food safety and high standards of cleanliness will also be a key focus for you. Whilst this is a Sous Chef position, the scope of the role and the size of the operation could appeal to an existing head Chef looking to progress within a large and exciting business.

A day in the life of a Sous Chef:
- In the absence of the Head Chef, assume responsibility for the overall kitchen operation
- Help oversee the general production of breakfast, lunch and dinner
- To maintain food hygiene, service & presentation to a high standard
- Support with managing the P&L and all associated financials
- Deliver first class food throughout service
- Manage all associated administration
- To manage and champion daily and weekly cleaning schedules
- Ensure compliance of all processes and procedures, including daily and weekly checklists and cleaning schedules
- You will work a variety of shifts, including weekend work
You will be set up for success if you have:
- Relevant culinary experience operating at a Sous Chef or Head Chef level
- A passion for food and service
- Flexible approach to hours and duties
- IT literate, numerate and able to communicate across cross discipline stakeholders
