Position Description

Vantage Automation Systems are responsible for the Design, Development & Delivery of the BMS/Automation Package within all VDC builds across the entire EMEA portfolio. We are seeking a skilled Automation Technical Project Manager to lead and manage the technical aspects of automation initiatives in the data centre industry. This role bridges the gap between Design, Technical execution and project management, ensuring successful deployment of advanced automation solutions to optimize data centre operations.

Essential Job Functions & Duties

  • Manage the technical lifecycle of automation projects, including design, development, integration, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, developers, and cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and project deliverables.
  • Provide hands-on oversight of automation systems, software tools, and technology deployment.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and technical documentation.
  • Identify technical risks, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure project success.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to align technical capabilities with project objectives and business goals.
  • Ensure all automation solutions meet performance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Drive technical innovation and best practices in automation workflows and processes.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong technical background in automation, engineering, or IT, with hands-on experience in data centre environments.
  • Proven expertise in managing technical projects, preferably in automation or technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with automation tools, software, and frameworks (PLCs, SCADA platforms & Network Infrastructure).
  • Understanding of data centre operations, infrastructure, and scalability challenges.
  • Proficiency in technical project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Jira).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple technical priorities.

Travel is expected to be around 25% but may increase as the business evolves.
