They are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join their projects division permanently, covering various sites throughout the Southern Water region of England. The Project Engineer will be responsible for supporting all delivery preparation activities during the planning and operational phases of the programmed work, with a focus on the following key areas: Developing project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, coordinating logistics, procurement, and site activities, and preparing project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data to recommend actions., * Compile engineering specifications to generate supply chain inquiries.

  • Review or create detailed and accurate Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS).

  • Conduct site surveys, including taking measurements, photographs, asking operational questions, understanding processes, and assessing access and egress.

  • Resolve technical and logistical challenges as they arise, leveraging the team’s technical expertise when necessary.

  • Support project requirements and coordinate activities among key stakeholders.

  • Lead and manage the procurement of materials and services.

  • Evaluate, organise, and prioritize workload according to the project schedule.

  • Attend client and operational meetings.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients.

  • Provide frequent project progress updates to Senior Management.

  • Manage defect identification and resolution.

  • Oversee day-to-day supplier and subcontractor interactions.

  • Assess supplier quotations.

  • Ensure adherence to project schedules and report any discrepancies to management.

  • Assist in tender preparation, ensuring it is reviewed and approved by management.

  • Visit supplier premises to inspect completed work.

  • Support the management team, supervisors, and team leaders as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with CDM and HSE regulations.

  • Deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing relevant procedures, rules, and regulations.

To be considered for this role, you should have a minimum of 2-3 years of project engineering experience, ideally within an engineering background. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience with MS Project and/or P6 Primavera planning software is highly desirable.
