The role
As a Senior Bid Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary, supporting the Bid Management Lead in the quality application of the end-to-end Business Winning Methodology throughout the Sector. Day-to-day, you’ll take the lead in developing and ensuring quality of business winning functional outputs, including bid strategies, competitive assessments, win strategies, and value propositions that differentiate Babcock’s offering/proposal from the competition. Work alongside the customer facing ‘opportunity owners’, lead the design and implementation of effective business winning programmes, ensuring bid teams are resourced effectively to deliver against plans. Working with/as the Business Winning Lead as part of the opportunity leadership team, acting as a point of escalation for matters relating to the application of the Business Winning Methodology. Own the application of the Business Winning Methodology for specific bids and/or portfolios, working closely with other functional leads to integrate the inputs/outputs of a range of different professional skills and competencies required from across the business to develop quality business winning outputs. Line Management of Bid Managers and Bid Coordinators. Develop partnering strategies.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with three days on site at Hamilton International Technology Park and two days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Bid Manager
- Business winning professional with experience in leading the application of recognised business winning methodologies on major bids.
- Understanding and experience of managing the capture phase of opportunities, including producing quality capture outputs.
- Ability to motivate and lead multi-functional teams.
- Strong financial and commercial awareness.
