Purpose of the Role: Translating the corporate customer strategy and toolkit into a comprehensive trade plan. Coordinating the Events process and critical path, end to end for all food commercial categories. Ensuring all other key stakeholders and functions are following the trade plan priorities whilst adhering to critical path time scales. Help and support the team to deliver and execute Seasonal events, across the Seasonal Aisle and wider store.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end to end process of all customer events, from brief through to final execution whilst working alongside the relevant key stakeholders, showcasing our amazing products and ensuring Asda is the home of events.
- Support on the Quarterly planning process, working with the Trade Planning Strategy team to confirm the final space plan and drive the events critical path.
- Work cross functionally with General Merchandise counterparts on shared events to drive consistency across food and non-food categories.
- Use Data, Insight and Analytics from previous events to feed into event briefs and block plans. Use the same data to review nominations and challenge appropriately to ensure all events align to the customer theme, sales, profit and promo principles set out by the business.
- Identify event growth opportunities year on year and work with relevant teams across the business to fill these.
- Work closely with the events modular planner to ensure event builds are data led and aligned to the original brief.
- Work with the Anaplan team to ensure the smooth transition of all Events and relevant space onto Anaplan.
- Run weekly sales data to provide updates on events to inform decisions, ensuring we are fit for the future and all stakeholders are aware of event performance during and post event.
- Work with Commercial, Customer Planning, Insight and Retail to execute each event (circa x20 per annum) effectively, including but not limited to: weekly alignment meetings, multiple review and sign off meetings for each event, autopsy and store walks.
- Attend regular competitor store visits to remain close to the market and identify market opportunities, communicating these to the relevant teams as appropriate.
- Coordinate and lead on the input into all Autopsy decks for all seasonal events, working closely with Commercial, Modular Planning, Demand Planning and POS team.
- Work alongside Commercial and Insight teams to collate competitor pricing and reviews, to feed into future briefs and share with relevant stakeholders.
