About the role:

Working in partnership with our client (an internationally known B2B organisation), the Website Manager will oversee the content, updates, optimisation, and the running of our client’s eight event websites. Our client’s ambition is to offer a best-in-class digital customer experience. We have been appointed to create a Digital Centre of Excellence within the clients’ pharmaceutical practice. The Digital Centre of Excellence will drive and embed digital best practice, own the development and strategy of digital channels, and understand and grow audience engagement through all digital touchpoints. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced web manager who wants to take their work to the next level by innovating, experimenting, collaborating across channels, and developing data-driven strategies to improve customer experience and increase engagement and conversion.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Marketing, the Website Manager will have solid knowledge when it comes to publishing new website content and ensuring that quality control is applied before being made live. You will know what good web design looks like and you will be the guardian of brand consistency when updates are being applied. You will be part of a team of 13 within our client’s Digital Centre of Excellence, where the team is responsible for specific KPI targets, including driving leads via the website. The website will be key to ensuring a simple and engaging user experience. You will be expected to work closely with our SEO Manager to ensure copy is being updated and published and adheres to the SEO criteria set out.

What you will be doing:

  • Creating and maintaining webpages across our client’s event websites that promote events, products, and services for our pharmaceutical client.
  • Identifying opportunities for website performance improvement based on user feedback and performance analysis.
  • An ‘experiment-and-test' mindset which promotes innovation, seeks new opportunities to improve the website experience, and looks at collaborative omnichannel campaign improvements.
  • Continually looking for opportunities to increase conversion rates from website visitors.
  • Working closely with a team of subject matter experts across digital channels to create outstanding user journeys tailored to the channel of origin.
  • Providing recommendations on site structure to ensure key content and pages are clearly signposted and highly visible.
  • Evaluating accessibility criteria to ensure websites are accessible for all users.
  • Evaluating and recommending new web technologies where you see fit.
  • Working with the DCoE team to implement SEO recommendations to help improve website rankings.
  • Technical skills, including strong HTML and CSS coding skills and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of the broader digital marketing ecosystem and the collaborative role that the website plays in customer journeys.
  • The ability to project manage your tasks and workload and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Staying up to date with emerging website technologies.
  • A demonstrable understanding of excellent user experience (UX).
  • Experience with the Adobe Experience Manager content management system.
  • Experience of creating/running website A/B tests.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics.
  • The ability to translate analytics data into insightful reports on campaign performance and recommendations for future strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex information in a concise, clear, understandable manner.
  • A can-do, self-starting, and critical mind with the ability to handle multiple projects at once and prioritise a busy workload.

What you need to be great in this role:

  • Confident working autonomously and with 3rd party agencies.
  • Excellent presentation skills – both written and spoken.
  • Understanding of how to integrate with a client-side team whilst maintaining a digital agency service.
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical sector would be a benefit; B2B experience is a must.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role and working within a digital marketing team.
