Chambers is in the process of defining a new proposition for the Data and Insights offering. Using the copious number of data points gathered during our core business of rankings, we would like to release more value to our customers as they conduct the ‘business of law’.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify the target customers’ willingness to pay in order to achieve product-market fit.
  • Iterate through different concepts (provocations) at pace to enable a July start for infrastructure.
  • Identify version 1 which will allow the technology team to deliver the first increment of value by end of November.

Scope

  • Focus on the scope of our insights product. A clear list of available data points will be shared on start. Some are currently in manual format and this will influence priorities.
  • Work with the internal product team, through Agile touch points to ensure they can move at pace.
  • Collaborate and empower the product and technology team through the facilitation of the user research process to ensure maximum knowledge transfer.
  • Work with the internal tools: Teams, Sharepoint, Miro, Dovetail, Notion.
  • Collaborate with the Product Analyst to define product metrics and ensure long-term tracking for success.
  • Out of scope is sourcing initial participants - we have an internal commercial partner who is committed. In scope is possible snowballing.
  • Scheduling and GDPR process is in scope - we have an emerging UR guild so the Product Design team can help with any operational tasks.

Skills and Experience

Ultimately we want to identify product market fit. It is known that we may not have the right solution, so if we don’t hit PMF, a clear understanding of what was missing is necessary. At this point, we assume 3 iterations of 5-8 sessions with the target users. It might be less. We doubt we’ll get more in.

Rounds

Rounds could look like this: CMO of the law firm (customer), 2 X Law firm partner (internal customer). All three noted is that we are flexible on the exact makeup and timing of the above as the project needs dictate and indeed the participant availability presents itself.

List of user needs within Dovetail and Notion. Debrief (presentation) per round to ensure maximum knowledge transfer and enable decision making using the tool the team decides. Research sessions recorded and shared with the team.

Timelines

Development start by end of July. Steering committee approval needed by early June. At least 2 iterations done by Steering committee (the third if possible but we are aware recruitment is the issue here).
