Must Have Skills: Backup and Recovery Management

Good to Have Skills: Data Domain, Networker, Commvault, DPA, PPDM Backup Administration, Storage administration

Technical Experience:

• Strong knowledge of Networker, Data Domain, Commvault.
• Experience in troubleshooting, maintenance activities, and upgrades.
• Hands-on experience with group policy, datasets, replication, and scheduling.
• Knowledge of PPDM, Networker, Data Domain integration.
• Knowledge of DDBoost, NFS/CIFS, M Tree configuration on Data Domain.
• Experience working with Windows Server 2012, 2016, Linux, Solaris platforms.
• Coordination with internal stakeholders for backup agent configuration.
• Monitoring and report configuration on DPA Data Protection Advisory.
• Extracting audit reports on Networker and DPA.
• Experience with Tape Library and tape rotation procedures.
• Conducting backup restoration drills regularly.
• Preparing and reviewing backup process documentation periodically.
• Planning hardware and software sizing for future needs.
• Collaborating with backup vendors for P1 tickets.
• Regular patching and upgrades of backup software.
• Validating backup health check reports daily.
• Creating tickets for backup job failures.
• Managing bridge calls and stakeholders for P1 incidents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work extended hours.
• Backup certification is an advantage.

Storage:

• Knowledge of storage administration.
• Experience with NAS and SAN storage.
• Configuration of LUNs and SAN switches.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Analyze complex problems thoroughly.
• Utilize change and incident management tools.
• Collaborate in cross-functional teams and influence outcomes.
• Adhere to ESFB, regulatory policies, and procedures.
• Perform daily health checks of backup and storage systems.
• Review configurations and process documents periodically.
