What Is the Opportunity? As Nat CAT Modelling and Analytics Lead you will be responsible for leading our NAT CAT modelling and analytics team with the CAT Risk function, reporting directly into the AVP for CAT Risk and Capital. You will lead in the areas of complex pricing support, portfolio analysis and optimisation, model validation, VoR and other related areas. You will have deep understanding of CAT models and hands on experience of validating and implementing new perils and/or regions into an organisation. You will have 2 senior direct reports supporting you as well as strong links into our industry leading expertise within our Enterprise Cat function. You will have a thorough understanding of the Lloyd’s market and hold specialist qualifications such as the Certified Specialist in Catastrophe Risk (CSCR), Certified Catastrophe Risk Management Professional (CCRMP), or a CAT modelling designation from a leading third-party vendor, such as Verisk’s Certified Extreme Event Modeler (CEEM). You will bring advanced technical skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, SQL, geospatial tools, and statistical packages used for data retrieval and analysis. With hands-on experience in model validation, you also offer strong leadership capabilities, having successfully managed change, developed teams, and aligned resources to achieve strategic goals. Your exceptional organisational skills enable you to manage multiple priorities effectively, while your excellent written and verbal communication skills allow you to consult on complex projects and present confidently at all levels of seniority.
Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion. What Will You Do?
- Provide complex pricing support to optimize risk assessment and pricing strategies.
- Conduct portfolio risk reward analysis to influence CAT underwriting strategy.
- Lead model validation efforts and play a leading role in CAT View of Risk (VOR) discussions.
- Perform scenario testing and sensitivity analysis to refine catastrophe risk appetites and willingness to lose metrics.
- Maintain expert knowledge of Data Repository & CAT Ecosystem for metrics, reports and exposure data.
- Utilise geospatial data and modelling platforms to enhance risk assessment and decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior resources and technical experts from our Enterprise functions to drive innovation and continuous improvement for the Travelers Europe business.
- Provide general CAT modelling expertise to our Non Natural CAT and emerging risk specialists.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Substantial relevant analytics experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite, SQL, geospatial, statistical packages or other programs used to retrieve and analyse data.
- Certified Specialist in Catastrophe Risk (CSCR) designation, Certified Catastrophe Risk Management Professional (CCRMP) or CAT model designation from leading 3rd party vendor such as Verisk Certified Extreme Event Modeler (CEEM).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage change, develop employees, and align resources to accomplish key objectives.
- Advanced organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and follow through to ensure timely completion.
- Broad knowledge and understanding of Catastrophe Risk Modelling components including model output and metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to consult on projects and present information effectively to all seniority levels.
- Thorough understanding of the marketplace and competitive dynamics.
