Are you an experienced practice accountant with a passion for building strong client relationships and leading high-performing teams? A well-established and forward-thinking professional services firm in Exeter is looking for a Senior Client Manager to take the lead on a portfolio of corporate clients with turnovers up to £10.2m. This is an exciting opportunity to play a strategic role in the growth and development of a dynamic business.

You’ll lead a talented team of accountants, delivering high-quality services and proactive business advice. You’ll also take a hands-on role in business development, helping to grow the firm’s presence in the local market.

Role Responsibilities

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring timely delivery of a wide range of accounting services
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted business advisor
  • Leading, coaching and mentoring your team to ensure excellent client service and career development
  • Supporting firmwide strategic goals, including developing services and promoting cross-office collaboration
  • Playing a key role in business development and networking within the Exeter business community
  • Contributing to recruitment, resource planning and team performance management

Candidate Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of owner-managed or SME clients in a practice setting
  • Strong people management skills with a track record of mentoring and developing teams
  • Commercial mindset and ability to spot business opportunities
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build rapport at all levels
  • Energetic, ambitious and enthusiastic about making an impact in the local market
