Reporting to the Executive Head Chef, you can expect your working day to include the following duties.

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes in accordance with recipes and standards.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen workstations, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.

  • Learn and master basic culinary techniques under the guidance of senior kitchen team.

  • Support the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Head Chef in maintaining inventory levels and ordering supplies as needed.

  • Follow instructions and complete tasks assigned by senior kitchen staff in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Follow proper food handling procedures, including temperature monitoring, labelling, and storage, to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.

  • Embrace opportunities for learning and development, seeking feedback from mentors to enhance culinary skills.

  • The ability to manage various sections of the kitchen, whilst ensuring health & safety standards are met.

  • To be flexible in your approach, and able to assist the Sous Chef and any other members of the kitchen brigade when required.

  • A team player who thrives in the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen department.

  • Someone who is passionate about food and willing to learn.

  • An understanding of quality control and kitchen standards.

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
